She knew her parents had a particularly bad year and needed the money, but she was not going to do it again. All she had to do is survive this one last time ...and next year she would run away. Her parents would have to wonder what had happened to her.

She loved them so much, but she could not endure this much longer.  Last year was the worse, and she couldn't imagine that this year would be any less dreadful ...it would probably be worse, if that is at all possible.
