But having worked in a prison, I've witnessed how effective a television can be in occupying time.

Knowing enough about the content of television, it certainly is my belief that today's viewing of television has little potential value towards possible rehabilitation of prisoners ...and little teaching value, in general, for our children whom we hope will avoid the prison system.  Yet, it is not just prison that we should fear.  There is much danger in allowing ourselves to be absorbed in some things that are not illegal.
